Alberta CARE Ink Recycle Program

Alberta CARE has formed a partnership with Ko-Rec-Type Canada to bring you a program called "Alberta CARE Recycle Ink."

Alberta CARE Recycle Ink provides corporations, municipalities, schools, industry, businesses, and individuals with home computers, a FREE and convenient method for recycling their used printer cartridges.

Cartridges donated to the Alberta CARE Recycle Ink program will be refilled or remanufactured by Ko-Rec-Type. Cartridges will be thoroughly cleaned, reassembled, refilled and inspected. Every component of the cartridge will either be reused or recycled. Ko-Rec-Type recycles thousands of cartridges each month under the ISO 9002 Quality Assurance Program.

For every 100,000 used cartridges recycled, we can save:

  • 9599 kilograms of aluminium
  • 40 tonnes of plastic
  • 1,000,000 litres of oil

Over 30 million inkjet cartridges are used in Canada every year and less than 5% are currently being recycled. Almost 3 ounces of oil is required to produce a new inkjet cartridge. The plastic used in inkjet cartridges can take over 10 centuries to decompose.

Alberta CARE is inviting you to join our partnership program to eliminate ink cartridges from our landfills in northern Alberta and practice the "3 Rs"……reduce, reuse and recycle. This program is FREE.

It’s an easy way to help make a difference!
